Exploring the Facts of Human Multiple Intelligence

Image
As we move through the busy life of the city, we often find ourselves in situations that test different parts of our intelligence. Howard Gardner, a well-known psychologist, introduced the Theory of Multiple Intelligences in his 1983 book Frames of Mind . He believed that intelligence is not just one single skill, but a mix of different abilities. This idea has changed the way we think about learning and personal growth. Everyday city life gives us many chances to use these different kinds of intelligence without even realizing it. Here are a few examples: Linguistic intelligence is about how well we use and understand language. You might use this when you’re reading a book on the bus, having a deep conversation, or even joking with a street vendor. Logical-mathematical intelligence helps us solve problems and notice patterns. You use it when planning your budget, solving work problems, or organizing your day. Spatial intelligence comes into play when you're trying to figure o...

The Animal in me

The Animal in Me: Why I Relate to the Grizzly Bear We all have that one animal that just feels like us,like if we had a spirit animal or a wild side, that would be it. For me, it’s the grizzly bear . Not just because it’s strong or fierce (though those are great qualities), but because there’s something deeper about the way grizzlies live and move through the world that really reflects who I am. Adapting and Overcoming Grizzly bears are survivors. They adapt to different seasons, different environments, and even food shortages. They do what it takes to make it through tough times. And honestly, life hasn’t always been easy for me either. But like a grizzly, I’ve learned to adjust, stay grounded, and keep moving forward. Stillness and Reflection Bears hibernate, not because they’re lazy, but because they know the value of rest. They recharge so they can be stronger for the next season. I’ve learned to do the same. Taking time out, stepping back from the noise, and giving myself sp...

Learning to See Through Perspective

Week 6 with Mr. Mark: Learning to See Through Perspective Week 6 in Mr. Mark’s class was a big eye-opener for many of us learning to draw. This was the week we dove into perspective drawing,an important skill that helps turn flat drawings into something that looks 3D and full of life. Perspective isn’t just about making things look smaller as they go farther away. It’s about creating depth and space on paper, making it feel like you could step right into the drawing. Mr. Mark, with his love for art and years of experience, showed us how to make our drawings more realistic and exciting. We started with one-point perspective , where all lines go to one spot on the horizon, great for things like roads or buildings you’re looking at straight on. Then we tried two-point perspective , which uses two vanishing points and is great for drawing corners or angled objects, like the edge of a box or a building. But Mr. Mark didn’t stop there. He also taught us about atmospheric perspective —how thin...

Why Rest Matters

Image
Week 5 with Miss Zelda In week 5, Miss Zelda taught us something we all tend to forget, how important it is to rest. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to keep going without taking a break. But Miss Zelda reminded us that rest isn’t just about sleeping or doing nothing,it helps clear our minds, calm our emotions, and reduce stress. Rest keeps us healthy, both physically and mentally. To go along with the lesson, we watched a movie called Awake . It’s a 2021 sci-fi thriller about a world where people suddenly can’t sleep anymore. Everything quickly falls apart. The movie showed how dangerous life could be without rest and really made Miss Zelda’s message hit home, rest isn’t a luxury, it’s something we need to survive. As we keep moving through school and life, it’s important to remember what she taught us. When we feel tired or overwhelmed, it’s okay to pause. Taking breaks helps us come back stronger, with more focus and energy. Rest isn’t being lazy,it’s how we recharge and take care of our...

Why Time Management Matters

Image
Lessons from Miss Tebogo’s Class Learning to manage your time is super important, and according to Miss Tebogo, it’s never too early to start. In the fourth week of class, she introduced her students to this important skill, showing them how using their time wisely can help them do better in school and feel less stressed. Miss Tebogo probably shared tips like how to set goals, plan your day, and figure out what tasks are most important. These small habits can make a big difference. They help students stay focused, stop procrastinating, and use their time in a smarter way. By teaching this, she’s not just helping her class with schoolwork, she’s giving them tools they can use for the rest of their lives. Good time management means being in control of your day. It helps you finish your work on time, make space for things you enjoy, and keep a healthy balance between work and fun. It’s all about making better choices with the time you have. Miss Tebogo’s lesson reminds us that t...

Adobe Illustrator: A Creative Adventure

Image
Adobe Illustrator: A Creative Adventure Learning Adobe Illustrator can be exciting and full of creative possibilities. At NEMISA, students start this journey with the help of a skilled teacher, Miss Moleboheng. She helps them discover how art and technology come together through design. Adobe Illustrator is a powerful design tool that lets you turn simple shapes and lines into cool logos, detailed drawings, and eye-catching graphics. It’s like a digital art playground where you can create anything you imagine. Tools like the Pen tool and Pathfinder give you lots of control to design exactly how you want. By the third week at NEMISA, students begin to understand the basics better. This is when the real fun starts, designs get more detailed, colors pop more, and ideas come to life. It shows how great teaching and a desire to learn can go a long way. As time goes on, students will keep improving. They’ll learn about layers, play with color gradients, and maybe even try 3D effects. Every ne...
